Designed for real rooms

Most speakers are designed as if the room isn't there. In practice, much of what you hear is sound reflecting off your walls, floor and ceiling. This is why the same speakers sound different in every room.

We fight this in a number of ways:
All our systems have even dispersion characteristics to reduce the negative effect of room reflections. Further, the Manta and Saranna are cardioid: they direct sound towards you and away from the walls. For the SBS and Manta, bass comes from separate units placed where the room needs them, or in the case of Saranna, from cabinets designed to work with the wall behind them. You hear more of the speaker and less of the room, without acoustic panels or a dedicated listening space.
