Saranna is a 3-way, directivity controlled full range floorstander.

Saranna is still in development.

Pre-orders starting March 2025.

Explore details below (preliminary)

Full range coaxial main driver

The front of the Saranna reveals a single, very capable coaxial driver with powerful neodymium magnets. It covers almost the entire audible range, ensuring that Saranna is perceived as a true point source with exceptional imaging and soundstage.

The midrange is covered by a powerful 8" optimized for midbass and lower midrange. From 1500hz and up, a horn loaded compression driver provides high capacity, low distortion and butter smooth highs.

Cardioid midrange

The vented midrange chamber reduces reflections from the side walls and the wall behind the speakers. The result is increased clarity and improved soundstage. This is what gives Saranna her unique vocal performance, and ability to sound clear and tidy even on complex music productions.

Saranna achieves cardioid like performance from 150hz. This ensures the rhythmic and punchy nature of the upper bass and lower midrange is directed towards the listener, and not muddied by reflections in the room.

Rear mounted subwoofer drivers

Saranna hides a dirty secret. Seen from the front, it looks like the entire frequency range is covered by a single driver. Peek behind her, and two high-end 8" subwoofer drivers are revealed. They are housed in a large, vented enclosure with a low tuning. This ensures tight, powerful bass all the way down to 20hz in-room. The drivers are vertically spaced for smoother frequency response.

The rear mounted approach combined with the recommended placement of only 15cm from the wall is unusual, but not an accident. This allows for boundary coupling with the wall, a trick borrowed from our Inkognito subwoofers. The result is more powerful and even bass response than traditional speakers.

The Saranna experience

While Saranna must be heard to be fully understood, here are some bullets describing the listening experience.

  • Saranna is by design an allrounder. Great records sound truly exceptional, and even less than perfect records sound very good.
  • Complex and highly dynamic records are handled with ease. Saranna pulls off the feat of sounding effortless no matter what you play, in a very similar way to our MANTA end state monitor.
  • Saranna presents a huge soundstage and pinpoint imaging. Counterintuitively, the true point source behaviour makes the speaker truly disappear.
  • Deep, tight bass that is controlled even at loud volume. If you ever heard a perfectly integrated subwoofer system, that's what the Saranna sounds like.
  • Despite utilizing a compression horn (something more often found in PA than hifi), the treble and highs can only be described as butter smooth.

How to setup & enjoy

Unsure what to buy or how to set it up? Let us help!

Our speakers are active, so no power amplifier needed. A DAC, preamp or streamer with XLR/RCA preouts is all you need. They work well in most rooms out of the box. By simply pressing a button at the back of the speakers, you switch through presets that further tailor the speakers to your room or preference.

Want more advanced? Our speakers have built-in EQ. If you have the ability to perform measurements of your setup, we even offer free assistance with evaluating the measurements and suggesting appropriate EQ adjustments!

BASS

The Saranna is a ported design, engineered to provide full range sound. Three different presets are available at the press of a button allowing you to select the bass response that works best in the room.

Let's get rocked!

If a speaker is presented as great for rock and metal, this often comes with a challenging stigma. A loudspeaker that is great for rock can't be truly high-end right? Or can it?

Saranna can play anything and everything. Whatever genre or track is your favorite, it will sound great on Saranna.

That being said, there are tons of "high-end" speakers out there that fall apart completely when they're asked to play complex music like rock and metal.

Saranna? She loves it, and so do we!

Finishes / Colors

Saranna will come in two beautiful finishes: Fade To Black and Shady White. Both featuring a painted core, and side panels with exclusive multilaminar wood veneer designed by Piero Lissoni of Alpi as presented below.

Fade to black (Veneer)

Each side features a panel covered by exclusive black wood veneer by Piero Lissoni of Alpi.

Fade To Black (Paint)

The core structure of the loudspeaker is painted velvet black in a satin finish.

Shady White (Veneer)

Each side features a panel covered by exclusive grey wood veneer by Piero Lissoni of Alpi.

Shady White (Paint)

The core structure of the loudspeaker is painted mischievous white in a satin finish.

Viscoelastic damping feet

The Saranna rests on custom viscoelastic damping feet from Egeland Acoustics. The internal 3D wave pattern has been designed to match the weight of each speaker, for ideal decoupling and dampening.

The result is a stable platform that minimizes vibration transfer both to and from the speaker.

Saranna full range floorstander

Dynamic range

Sigberg Audio is known for active speaker systems with exceptional dynamic range. Despite the fact that Saranna does not rely on external subwoofers, she still boasts impressive dynamic range.

You are not likely to reach the limit of Sarannas capabilities even in medium to large rooms.

A proven technology

Cardioid response in loudspeakers has been studied and proven to be the most preferred dispersion characteristics (Ferekidis, Kempe, 2004).

It improves clarity, transient reproduction and accuracy of soundstage (Kantamaa, 2020).
